Well what can I say? It's yard sale season and I'm treasure hunting. That being said I'm not original owner but hear is what I can tell you. It is a BIDDLE Hand tachometer- Eddy- current type. Item appears to be in excellent condition and looks complete with box and accessories. It has 3 ranges(1-10-100) The small instruction card is with it. The tach and accessories show very minimal wear. The case is also in very good shape but does have some markings on it(see pictures) When I change the range button the needle" jumps" I would say it to be in like new condition. This is a James G. Biddle Co"Megger" megohmmeter insulation tester. Estimated to be from the early 1980s, in working condition but without recent calibration. The tag on the back states that it is catalog#70147. But investigating the website(biddlemegger.com) I have determined that it appears to be the same as#21805 and a n owners manual is there to download. A hand cranked magneto supplies 500 volts through the leads and the readout is scaled from 0- 500 ohms(o hms side) and 0- infinity(megohms side) With a switch to set the reading. Leads and case are included. But the leather case is in rough shape, needed a re-stitch and general TLC. The leads are about 5 feet long an d in good condition. And the instrument its elf is clean. It is missing the small cover plate for the ohms/megohms switch but the info is hand written on the meter. ... moreOther than that. No markings or engravings. I used th is for several years while surveying yachts and doing marine electrical consulting work. Great for determining if there is insulation damage to hidden wiring. Up for sale is my Biddle Megger. Model# 21159 tester, with carry case, made in USA. Prior to listing. I borrowed a set of leads and ran it through the test procedure in Section 2-3 of the manual. It passed all three: the Infinity Check, The Zero Check and the Lead Check. The labels for the knob positions( Volt and Ohm settings) had rubbed off and have been redone. As you can see. The case is grubby& worn, but will at least provide protection in transit. Finally, as mentioned, you'll need to provide your own set of leads. I don't have a paper copy of the manual. But will email a PDF upon request. This is the cheapest one on ebay and a great bargain- don't let it get away!
