These modifications must have been field upgrades to this particular scope. The electronic versions of the manuals that I have for this scope will be provided on a flash drive. Sold for parts due to age and incomplete testing. Looks like everything is there on the inside. Is missing the"Delay Time Multiplier" knob. One of the top handles is broken and the other handle looks like it could break at any moment(lift from the bottom only) It was quite a chore to get all four channels to display at one time, never used a vintage scope like this one before. Offered is a Techtronics 545A Oscilliscope with Type 53/54K Plug-In Unit. I purchased this unit at an Estate sale. As you can see from the photos it has numerous scratches and marks on the outside paint finish but no dents or damage other than cosmetic.The cover on the carry handles is cracked and damaged. The front face has some scratches and wear and tear. Inside it is remarkably clean. The cooling fan runs fine. I cleaned the outside and thoroughly inspected the inside. Found no noticeable damage or problems. I don't know how to use a scope but was able to test it by following start up instructions from a free online manual for a 545 unit. After spending a lot of time adjusting the front controls following instructions from the manual. I was able to get the square tooth signal you see in the photos. It is a test signal from the Cal ... moreout jack connected with a jumper to the Plug in unit Input jack. Other than that no other tests were done. I don't have any cables or probes and wouldn't know how to use them if I did. I can't make any promises as to how well it will work otherwise. Sorry. But the mechanical aspect of the rack mount model is in the manual for the R564B. I did not find a manual for the 564B with both the rack mount and the 121N mod features. Sold with working 3A6 preamp and 3B3 time base. Pictures show the calibrator signal in the non-storage mode. The storage flood gun for the upper and then for both the upper and lower, and finally the stored image. One was a sweep circuit designed by Dick Ropequet which was several times more stable and accurate then any other then in use. A man in our test department, John Kobbe, suggested a direct coupled unblanking circuit. This smaller scope had less space on the front panel for the necessary controls. A Machinist, Jim Morrow, suggested combining some of the controls, by making them co-axial(that is, a shaft within a shaft and separate knobs. We tried to purchase such controls but could find no one interesting in making them, so Jim machined sample controls. He even machined the dies to produce our own plastic knobs.
