At the BUY-IT-NOW($135) price. You get a model 3 cart, later Tek also called it K213. Cart was designed to hold Tektronix 7000series scopes made from the late 1960s to the early 1990s. Carts have a latching mechanism to lock down a 7K scope. But for other scopes, you'd need to add a belt or bungee cord to secure scope when tilted. These carts were sold by Tek for $500/ea new. These carts are too big to fit within UPS box size limits and cannot be disassembled for shipping to occupy a smaller box. Tektronix TLS 216, or Late Model TDS5/6/700x Parts Machine
This unit has a LCD display installed(active matrix 640 X 480) Sounds like the fan is a bit loud but that is actually the 24VDC to 12VDC buck converter. And inexpensive Chinese one in a metal pot will run much quieter; I tried several and they all seemed to work quite well. The front bezel has some deep scratches on the right front. This one has the nasty inputs that turn to chalk; but they do work fine. Just don’t pick at them, as they honest to god, will turn to chalk… The case actually looks pretty good with all four feet and the front wire stand. This thing actually has a sampler issue on one of the channels(a heater failure) I turned off self testing with the dip switch settings so that it would not bug me. You can’t tell if there is a problem in use. I last used it to simply test probes for resale, so I really didn’t care. But I have ... moreused it to full bandwidth and yes it works fine. This scope has had ALL of the troublesome SMD Electrolytic Capacitors replaced; you must do this on these or the scope will die. And not always come back after repair attempts. The acquisition board was in pretty good shape and yet it now FAILS the user. Initiated self test(when true self testing is enabled– see above) but PASSES the critical SPC routine. TLS216’s should NEVER be turned on w/o verifying that those caps have been replaced first… Maybe you can find the heater problem if you take the time to build a console port– see the Tektronix community forum. Includes the TLS216. Four active probes and four coaxial adapter(these are actually 75-50 ohm matching pads) You can see all of the accessories included on the top of the scope. Vintage Tektronix Oscilloscope Model 545A Type 53/54K Plug-in Unit
Offered is a Techtronics 545A Oscilliscope with Type 53/54K Plug-In Unit. I purchased this unit at an Estate sale. As you can see from the photos it has numerous scratches and marks on the outside paint finish but no dents or damage other than cosmetic.The cover on the carry handles is cracked and damaged. The front face has some scratches and wear and tear. Inside it is remarkably clean. The cooling fan runs fine. I cleaned the outside and thoroughly inspected the inside. Found no noticeable damage or problems. I don't know how to use a scope but was able to test it by following start up instructions from a free online manual for a 545 unit. After spending a lot of time adjusting the front controls following instructions from the manual. I was able to get the square tooth signal you see in the photos. It is a test signal from the Cal ... moreout jack connected with a jumper to the Plug in unit Input jack. Other than that no other tests were done. I don't have any cables or probes and wouldn't know how to use them if I did. I can't make any promises as to how well it will work otherwise. Sorry.
