It shows numerous marks on the case consistent with bench use, not abuse. The display is w/o flaw, all controls function as intended. It accepted the newest available firmware w/o issue. Passes all power on self tests, user initiated self tests, and the critical Signal Path Compensation(SPC) It thinks and I think that it is 100% functional. This is a fine scope that takes up little bench space yet is quite capable. One nice thing about this scope is it can use the older active probes. At a fraction of the cost of the current active probes(ebay active probe are very risky, make sure you have a right of return or pay next to nothing… The new firmware added TDS3TRG and TDS3FFT. Do not buy these modules as you are being ... moregouged. This function is now free. Feet etc. are present. Also included is a working TDS3PRT. Thermal printer. Two working P6139A probes that are correct for this model, the original printed user manual, and folder w/product trivia. Anything else pictured is not included. I bought this recently. But it is way more scope than I need. I do electronics repair and some hobby micro-controller stuff. The best I can tell, everything checks out OK. All four channels read the exact same on the test signal. Unit has GPIB, VGA, PS2 mouse, DIN 5 keyboard, 2 serial, and one parallel port. There is some scuffing on the top of the machine, as seen in the pics. Does not come with any accessories, cables, or cords. Tektronix TDS 644A 500 Mhz Oscilloscope. For Parts, Partially Powers Up
Tektronix 500 MHz 4-Channel Digital Oscilloscope FOR PARTS. AS IS. Does not completely boot up. Screen display is dim. When powered on. The oscilloscope cycles through the self test and begins to boot up(you can hear the relays clicking on the attenuator assembly) But toward the end of the boot up process, the display screen freezes with a line at the top(see photo) and the 7-segment display on the processor board alternately flashes the top and bottom left side segments as it would during a normal boot(see picture) Using the Tektronix Service manual. The voltages inside have been checked and are in spec. The capacitors on the aquisition and processor boards have been replaced and the boards cleaned, but the problem remains. I suspect that the battery in the NVRAM is low and the checksum is bad. The Tektronix service manuals offer no help ... morefor how to fix this problem other than"replace the processor board" Also.
