This powerful oscilloscope has a 1 GHz bandwidth(350 ps rise time. With 10 ps time resolution) and a nice color screen. Has two channels, and two additional exte rnal trigger inputs. It has many useful features. Such as variable/infinite persistence, sophisticated logic triggering modes, lots of automatic measurements, and the ability to display one channel versus the other. It also has a modular input/probe preamplifier scheme that uses plugins for different applications such as high-speed active probes. This one comes with 3 general-purpose 50 ohm input pods. As with all HP instruments, the use/repairs manuals for this can be downloaded free from Agilent or from other websites. I have checked out the functions of the scope pretty extensively. And everything works well. It has not been calibrated for a while but does not seem to be way off ... morefor anything I would use it for. It passes all of its self tests(see photos) The colors came out a bit flat in the photos(the blue trace looks very similar to the gray background grid) but in person they are bright and vibrant. You can customize the colors infinitely for all aspects of the display- could have a white background or something if you want. HP54100D 1 GHZ Oscilloscope
This HP 54100D works just fine and passes all self tests. I was using it to develop custom electronics equipment for my shop when the video started jumping around and the video data got funny shaped. See the corners of the pictures. I am too busy and do not have a spare video module to swap in at this time. I have a second same type unit to use so this one is likely an easy repair for some one with a video module. This scope was always reliable in every way except the video is going out. It jumps around and gets a sideways Keystone raster as they call it. Shipping is 65.00 USA 48 States only. No international. Was used for development, and somehow never ended up in a trash bin and written off as tax expense. No matter what the nice tek employee tells you, be it over the phone or via email, they will NOT service it and will probably thank for returning it, and keep it… This is a nice scope. Passes power on and all user initiated self tests. Consistently passes the critical Signal Path Compensation routine(SPC) w/o exception. Running latest scope firmware V2.5.3 with out issue. Has a win98 sticker on the back but is in fact running Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3. Radisys.SF810” 566 mhz celeron, 256 megabytes, and a 6 gig hd. Front panel controls/leds are all correctly functioning. The on/off switch works but the led does ... morenot always light. Lightly touch it to light; this part is a high failure rate part, be nice too it. Floppy. Hard drive, and touch screen all work. The touch screen does have a couple of minor blemishes that can’t be seen in use. Overall this scope is in very nice condition, the only thing that seems to be wrong about it is the serial number. It has a minor ding at the upper left corner of the front bezel that might actually be a casting flaw(pictured) Keyboard and mouse not included but recommended(I like the ACK-540) Only the scope and a front cover are included with this sale. No accessories are included. Even if pictured. I’ve included a couple of pictures. But most are screen dumps to the floppy drive with the print button. Pay careful attention to the displays on screen information to get a better feel for the signals applied. I show a fast rise time signal of about 184 ps applied to all for channels with a 4 way power divider. To show input response. Next I applied a 100 mVrms to all four channels at 10 MHz. Note that at 1500 MHz, the scope easily exceeded the 70.7 mVrms–3dBm bandwidth cut off point. Bandwidth with this method appears to be at 1870 MHz. One pic
