This is an auction for a Tektronix CFG253 3Mhz Function Generator recovered from a local technical facility. The name of the facility has been taped over. But is a leading maker of some fine products. Has a"CALIBRATION NOT REQUIRED: FOR ENGINEERING USE ONLY. Not for testing of XXXXXX Product" sticker on top of unit. This unit looks to be in pretty nice shape cosmetically, with no real discernable scuffs, maybe just a little dusty and an older unit. Probably been in storage for many years. Seems to have been a discrepency between the person who was using it and the technician that looked it over. Someone wanted it checked over, but technician left a note saying" Seems to work Fine! Has four rubber feet on bottom of unit to prevent slipping, and are not deteriorated, but in great shape. The Tek power rack it is in is not part of the deal and neither is the oscilloscope in one of the pictures. The module powered up just fine and appeared to be functional. You can see the output on the scope. But I tried to change the output to millivolts instead of volts just playing around with it. Whatever I did brought up an error message. Something to the effect that the entry was out of range or something. So I moved on to taking pictures of the other plug-ins in the rack. When I came back to the AFG 5101 there was no display. I tried powering the rack off and back on. Still no display. And the output ON button/LED was off; I pressed it and it ... morecame back on but then went off again. Now I have a hard time believing that my attempt at changing the output killed the thing. And it does still show other LED’s on so it is getting power.
