Here I have a general electric polyphase industrial size watthour meter Model BV6. It has all parts intact and the glass cover is great! It is a big one and I am unsure of what the working condition is or if it may be good for parts only but it does good! It actually came out of an elementary school back in the early 90's. My grandfather used to collect some crazy stuff so now I am trying to find homes for some of it! The meter is marked 2.5 amps 60 cyc. Type V-4A 4 wire 3 phase 277 Volts. The tag inside is#33 259298. The length of the whole meter is 14 5/8" by 7 1/2" wide. When laid on its back the glass and back of meter stand 7" Just the glass cover is about 5 1/4" and the length 11" approx. The measurement are as accurate as I could get without taking it all apart which I really didn't want to do in fear ... moreof breaking something! I got this vintage Weston DC Volt Meter with a large lot of vintage gauges and test equipment I recently purchased from the estate of a long time'Ham' radio guy. It is Weston model 430. P/N 7345 and measures low voltage DC volts. The meter's range is 0 to.5 volts. This meter has a bakelite case and I believe it dates to the 1940's, possibly earlier. It is 6" high to the top of the terminals X 5" wide X 3 1/2" deep. It has a still useable leather carry strap and feet on both the bottom and back. Although I have no way to test it, I have every expectation it is in working condition, since the former owner has a hand written paper tag with it that has his test results. 500V& 527.95 Ohms' USA 48 states only bidders with the winner to pay 12.65 USPS shipping to 48 states. This auction is for a vintage used Farm Fresh General Electric Single-Phase Watthour Power Meter in a old wooden box painted a silver color. There are 2 old fuses mounted one on each side just above the meter and wired with old wire. I originally got this to make a Steampunk Lamp for my Man Cave. But never got it started and lost interest in it. I have seen these made into a lamp and the power wires are hooked to the meter and the dials turn as power is used. This a heavy item. Purchased at an estate sale. Was found in their basement. I found it interesting so I picked it up. I do not know anything about Electricity, or Meters, so I do not know if it works. I am selling as a Restore Project or as a collectible. The last patent date on it is 4/8/19& it was evidently made in Newark New Jersey. It states that it is a: TYPE OA WATTHOUR METER 100 AMPS 15 VOLTS SERIAL# 60774528 STYLE 170824F SINGLE PHASE 2 WIRE 60 CYCLES While taking the pictures I noticed a small(probably less than an inch) crack along the base of the glass near the one screw area. It is not visible when you look at the meter. That's why I almost missed seeing it. Vintage 1937 Westinghouse House Electrical Meter Type CA
Cool old Westinghouse electric meter. Would have been used to keep track of how much electricity was being used by a house. There is what I believe to be a date on the label of 9-10-37. There is old paint build up on the base. But the meter and glass appear to be in excellent condition. This would be a great decoration in a room in the industrial style. Or it could be used in a cool industrial style sculpture. Or, take it apart for all the great gears and parts. Has a hanger on the back for easy mounting on a wall. Measures about 7 1/2" tall, 5" deep, and 5 1/2" across. Don't come across these very often!
