Vintage Heathkit IPW-17 Regulated High Voltage Power Supply - Load Tested!
This Heathkit IP-17 Regulated High Voltage Power Supply in good working condition. It is a f actory wired unit. Hence the IPW-17 model number tag. Since it was assembled at the Heathkit plant, you can be assured that it was built right and that all solder connections were professionally done by trained technicians. I tested it by applying a load resistor and cranking up the voltage to the maximum at full current(100mA) and letting it run for 10 minutes. It did so with no problem. See the second photo for a demonstration. The Bias and Filament supplies are also working as they should. The cosmetics are pretty good- no scratches to the front panel or either meter. The cabinet shows some use and a little dirt here and there. Both handles are present and solid. The rubber feet have been removed. From a non-smoking and pet-free environment. This unit has been power on tested and load tested. Unfortunatly we were unable to fully test the limits of the machine because our load is only rated for 50V and 15A. The knob action was smooth. No skips. Jumps, or momentary resistance to being turned. This machine operates great! Cosmetically this unit shows signs of use. The bottom of the unit has scrapes and scratches from being slid off and on a work bench. There are only 3 feet on the bottom too. The rackmount ears show signs of being mounted and removed from a rack. All knobs and switches seem to operate just fine. Unit will come with a power cord only.
