GENIE SLC-24 MATERIAL LIFT ON STEROIDS
This is a modified Genie Super Lift Contractor 24ft. This was bought new on 4/24/2012. I used this to transfer 30 sheets of sheet rock thru a 2nd story window once I modified it. Owner had a 90 degree turn stairwell into a finished attic space. The 4 X 8ft sheets wouldn’t make the turn. I only lifted 5 sheets at a time. I used a 4ft level on the pallet to simulate looking into the end of a sheet of sheet rock to show no interference from the lift that would tear the paper. Load capacity is still 650lbs. I had used one of these years before to set two 8ft tall trapezoid windows in my own house when I built it. The hand crank is tiresome in my opinion and so this transpired. The hand crank got replaced by a Summit Racing 3500lb 12V winch. The cable wires are 32-36 ft in length and are actually jumper cables spliced together. Used a small transfer ... morebox and installed a 30A breaker. Replaced the original casters with bigger heavier wheels to roll easier over the ground. Made the“cradle” so as to fold over and roll this into the enclosed trailer you see. This is right at 7ft tall when upright. The cradle locks in place with the lower bracket and has an eyebolt to accommodate hooking if needed. The 10“ black wheels also rotate up and out of the way when upright and locks in place so the rear caster wheels can turn 360 degrees. One person can set up and maneuver this lift. May need help getting into a trailer hence the reason for the eyebolt or another pair of hands. The pallet goes with the lift. This can be locked onto the forks with two 1/2“ bolts so it won’t slide off. Pallet is 4ft X 2ft. Used all treated lumber and SS screws. The manual says lift net weight is 374 lbs. With these additions I estimate around 500+lbs. I still have all the original parts. Reason for selling is my business is part-time and looking to go out of business this year. Up for auction is this vintage snatch block. I can make out DRH Johnson on it but nothing else. I found it in a garage I bought. It was mounted to an I-beam overhead and had a sign saying"Max. Safe Operating Capacity 10 Tons(20.000 lbs. I don't know if that is the actual rating of this piece though. I would have to assume that the rig would be labeled for the weakest component so I would also assume that this is 10 tons or more. It's about 19" from tip of the hook to the bottom of the pulley. The pulley as about 6-1/2 inches in diameter and looks like it had a 1" diameter cable. It's a little filthy and has some surface rust but the hook swivels and the pulley rotates freely.
