IFR(Aeroflex) 1600S FM/AM(SSB) This IFR 1600S has been a standby unit for us for several years and only fired up four times a year to verify operation and calibration. This is one nice service monitor. Everything you need for general communications work in one box and super rugged/well built in the IFR tradition. Never had a problem with it, never used out of the shop, a really nice box for the price. These units are still being sold and serviced by Aeroflex(IFR) as the TS-4317 which is the military version. The CRT on this unit is perfect. If you prefer an LCD, there is a full color LCD upgrade kit available. I'll be listing one of these kits shortly and others pop up here on a regular basis so, if you don't like/trust a Color CRT, replace it with a Color LCD. I don't think we could have put more than another 100 or so on it, just about broken in! And, if you see funny things in the pictures, that's my reflection, should have worn a black shirt.
