Up for auction is this Velleman HPS40 handheld oscilloscope. In like new condition. I purchased this a few years ago for field work and have only used it a few times. It was very well cared for, and includes everything that it originally came with, including the case, protective sleeve, probe, PC data cable, and manual. I have verified that it functions correctly and the display is very clear. The scope uses 5 AA batteries or an external adapter(not-included) It also has a built-in charger if you choose to use rechargeable batteries. Analog scopes should not be used close to their upper bandwidth limit, digitizing scopes carry the same caveat even more so. It is recommended for use at under 150MHz. Whereas a non-storage scope can only display what happens after triggering. A digital storage scope can also display what happens before triggering, and this is its main advantage it's like a time machine. You can think of it as an endless loop recorder(like a cockpit voice recorder of an airplane) and you can look back any part of the loop you haven't re-recorded over. NLS MS-15 Miniscope portable oscilloscope - vintage
Here's a vintage Non-Linear Systems( NLS) MS-15 miniscope. This works using it's power adapter. The batteries are probably dead. Though I did not try and charge them. Some controls are scratchy. It's shown displaying it's built-in calibrator signal. The power adapter is wrapped in tape(old tape) as it appears to be wearing out where the cable exits it. See the photo. You can see the copper wire. It is working though. Could probably be fixed with a little silicone rubber. It's sold as-is.
