The inside(not shown) is blank. From the AMCC WebSite: Matchcover flats or salesman's samples are officially not part of the matchcover collecting hobby. When the hobby began(ca. 1940) There were millions of fine matchcovers to be collected. No one wanted flats. As the industry is all but dead in the United States, salesman's samples are becoming more desirable for two specific reasons. First, they are the finest and most colorful graphic example of the design, used by salesman to influence future customer sales. Second, there are very few of them around. By definition a flat is a matchcover factory stock that never contained matches or was never ... moremachine creased or stapled. i.e. if 20,000 match books were ordered, maybe 10-20 salesman's sample flats were produced. The sterling handle is in the Pomadour pattern. The Canadian rights to which Birks Canada's award-winning silversmiths, acquired from Gorham, USA, early in the last century. It matches the Birks Pompadour tomato server and the similar meat fork also being offered at this time. It is about an inch longer than the meat fork and tomato server. Measuring about 9+1/2 inches( 24.5cm) long and 2+1/8 ... moreinches(5.5cm) at its widest. Measurements are approximate. There is little visible wear to the silver handle marked Birk's sterling. The blade has light scratches from regular use and cleaning. Henry Birks and Son is the purveyor of Canada's finest silverware. This piece is in good condition with the usual signs of use for an item that is over 60 years of age. The superficial fine scratching on the part coming into direct contact with the food is commensurate with use. You might also like the matching meat fork and tomato server that appear among my other listings at this time. This piece would make a very nice addition to your table and to your collection. Carlton Ware Flat Back Deep Pink Horse Money Box - 1970s
This is one of several flat back money boxes from Carlton Ware produced in the mid 1970s. They were mainly designed by Vivienne Brennan in the early 70s and produced over a period of 8 years. Their flat surfaces were ideal for decoration and each shape was released in a number of different colourways. In this instance. This colourway for the Horse is the very popular deep pink and brown. There is some light crazing and there is an underglaze area where there is evidence of the original paint colouring. There are no chips/nibbles nor restoration work. VINTAGE 1947 MARTIN D-18 FLAT TOP ACOUSTIC GUITAR
0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false For your consideration is this lovely and largely original example of a 1947 Martin D-18 serial number 102963. This beautiful instrument has a pro-refinished top and some overspray in other places. The back and sides are original finish. The bottom treble side has some overspray, the peg head and decal are all original finish, the back of neck and heel may have some overspray but are also largely original. The bottom treble side appears to have a very fine drying crack maybe a couple of inches long at best, the top has a small crack from being hit on the edge of the face with the typical fracture we see when this happens. Surprisingly crack free instrument though considering all things, as this is a mahogany constructed, well-used early Martin instrument. The bridge has been replaced, novice job with ... moreweird saddle placement(intonates correctly go figure) deliberately thin as to accommodate the poor neck angle and allow for low action, which it has. The correct repair is to buy or make the correct Martin bridge install it and re set the neck. What’s surprising even knowing all of this is that the guitar plays and sounds great, very warm, loud and pleasant as it is. The refinished top must have been done some time ago, it appears to be lacquer and has naturally weather checked and darkened. I believe that with some repair by a competent luthier that this is going to be one of the better sounding Martins from this era. It’s already great as it sits with appropriate repair who knows what this thing will do. Martins are fantastic instruments, many of them come to us with issues, they are worthy of the restoration and some of the rougher and more played guitars end up being the best sounding guitars by far. A great instrument, from a great year, by the greatest guitar manufacturer known to man. There is plenty of scope for fitting new grub screw in the remaining holes that have fresh threads though.

Up for sale are two identical NOS(new old stock) or never used. Or promo boxes, I am not sure. From what I've found in research, they are from the 1970's, and that's about all I've found. They have never been used, nor have they ever been folded along lines, and have no other folds or defects, or damage, they are in great condition, I really do not see any damage or defects at all, even the string is still nice and white. They are cool, no idea on value, or collectibility. But again, I think they are very cool. As for my few negatives last year, after 400 perfect transactions, I received a few negatives at the same time, and I don't think I earned them. I moved from Boston to SF, moving co lost 7 boxes on move. One box contained a few items that had recently sold, other items in other boxes made it and were sent out. This is a set of old meets new Sabian B20 hi hat top and AA El Sabor flat bottom hi hat cymbals. Essentially the same thing as zildjian new beats. Great shape no cracks or keyholes just a few tiny tiny nicks at edge of B20 top. Top From Tosco factory in Italy made using the Rotocast method no hammering.
