This is a used. Older model TAFA Arcspray welding system. It uses special wire which is essentially vaporized at the gun nozzle for dissimilar metal deposition, or to build up worn metal for re-machining. Came out of a government facility, so there's no telling what it may have been used for. The unit consists of a model 30-8A. 200A power supply(3 phase 208/240/44/480v) an Automatic Control Module, a model 8830 spray weld gun and numerous hoses and electrical cables. THE MACHINE SHOWS 53 HOURS ON THE HOURMETER! Bare machine weight with all hoses and cables is approx 325lb. Physical dimensions are: about 14" wide. 30" deep and 49" tall. I believe this machine was made by PRAXAIR. I was able to find a manual for a slightly later model(30-8B35) on the which I printed and bound for you. All components and parts seem to be available. ... moreThe machine is currently set up for 208/240V 3 phase power. I was able to power up the unit. The power supply fan went on. And the automatic control unit light went on. I am unfamiliar with this machine. And did not try to plumb it or hook up all the elctrical cables. As you see in the photos, there are numerous hoses and cables that come with the system. I do not know if it is absolutely complete or not. I did note that several of the electrical cables(one near the gun, and another have the insulation peeling and should be replaced before use. The 8830 gun has a part broken off, which I beleieve is for connecting the welding wire. It will have to be re-glued. The power supply has minor dents on the right side, probably caused by them hanging a regulator off that side. Other than those things mentioned. I couldn't find anything else obviously wrong, inside or out. But again, I can not test the machine, so it is being sold AS-IS. THE MACHINE WILL REQUIRE SOME ATTENTION BEFORE IT CAN BE USED! I carefully replaced the power cord with a heavy duty cord, cleaned out the case, and cleaned all the points with contact cleaner. I plugged it in and it hummed just like it should. This machine is rope start and is mounted on a low speed trailer(it has a ball coupler but I would not tow it on the road) There is a dent in the gas tank and the carb needs adjustment(sometimes it stumbles when you strike an arc) But otherwise the machine works well. The carb is new old stock, the original carb will be included with it. The welding leads are about 10 feet long and will be included. The generator mode has four 110 volt AC receptacles. Hello and thanks for looking. Thermal Arc 185 TSW tig welding unit. Welder is used but works fine. This is an excellent all-round tig welder with AC. DC, HF, Pulse etc and tons of adjustable parameters. I bought this used a couple years ago to do a few projects and I don't need it any more. Comes with the 17v torch, ground lead, Flame Tech gas regulator/flow meter, Varior brand foot pedal(a quality US-made welding pedal) box of spare fittings for the torch, a few 1/16 and 3/32 tungstens, and a users manual. For local buyers I will include the cart and 80CF Argon bottle(75% full) and a pack each of alumium and steel filler metal, but I am not including these items for shipping. It would just be too expensive. The only negatives are that the clear cover that goes over the adjustments is missing, and the shipping service(UPS) set it down ... moreacross an edge somewhere along the way and cracked the bottom of the left housing(see the last picture) I removed the housings and inspected the circuit boards and everthing is ok and the welder works as it should. I am selling my Miller Dynasty 200 DX AC/DC TIG welder with the Foot Control Contractor Kit Pkg(air cooled) I purchased this welder roughly 6 years ago new at Atlas welding supply in Berkeley CA. The Serial No. LH011462L indicates it was made before 2008 and they have made a couple of changes to the model. I have only used it a couple of times at home totaling 1 hour and 26 minutes with 234 arc strikes. These are recorded in the machines hour meter. It worked perfectly when last used. The machine looks as new and most components are in nearly new condition. Includes all that is in the photos- I believe everything in the miller kit is there but will not promise anything other than what is in the photos. I may amend this but I do not currently have the manuals to send with it. I moved and they are filed somewhere. MILLER MAXSTAR 175 converted to 220V single phase power and tested.
Miller Maxstar 175 welder converted to single phase 208/230 power using procedures found online at. With the exception that I did not cut any wires. Instead I removed pins from the plugs and put them in the required positions, so the welder could be returned to 3 phase operation if needed. The output of this machine should be the same as the MAXSTAR 152 welder. The welder was then tested with 3/32 6013 stick electrode on 1/8 thick steel using max setting both forward and reverse polarity, running a 3 inch bead in each. I do not currently have TIG torch for this welder so could not test with TIG. In its previous life this welder was used as a DC power supply for putting titanium nitride coating on drill bits and was never used as a'welder' it also has a fuse in line with the remote contactor line which I don't believe was standard ... moreon the regular welders. Miller inspection/ production date on welder is NOV 1999. Included in the auction is what is in the pictures, you supply the power cord, weld leads and remote foot/finger control, I used the extension cord for my plasma cutter to test this machine.
