This machine is configured to be used as an 8922P. Using an external converter. To accomodate this configuration, the attenuator that is normally in the RF IN/OUT path is bypassed. Without the 83220 converter connected, the machine displays a warning to the operator that the converter is not connected and the 8922 by itself cannot handle the input power expected from a cellular telephone under test. Notwithstanding, the 8922M understands that the 83220 converter is not in the signal path and the levels are accurate. This machine fully passes the power on self test. The frequency range is 10MHz to 1GHz. The spectrum analyzer has a max. span of 10 MHz. RBW is chosen for you depending on the span, and sensitivity is about-80 to-90 dBm. There is also an FM demodulator, AM modulator, and AF sinewave generator with accurate levels from millivolts to 8 V rms. It does have a deviation meter that can be driven by the FM demodulator. However. The measurement displayed is rms, not peak deviation.
