Ex REME surplus stock that seems to have spent it's life in stores as it is in excellent condition as far as I can tell! The paint is in excellent condition with only a few very minor scuffs and a couple of light scratches- one to the side and two underneath. The pvc casing is in excellent condition and has its' strap and the little screwdriver in the case lid. The unit comes in the original cardboard storage box with MOD label and a date of 1986 on what appears to be the release label. Also included are the instruction booklet, instruction sheet and REME maintenance document. I have not and cannot test this unit- I have no radioactive sources even if I followed the booklet! It was sold to my Father as being in working order but that ... morewas 27 years ago or so, has been dry stored in our loft ever since. As far as I know it should work but the internal batteries may need attention- to my knowledge there is no corrosion from them. There are 2 D-cells in the cardboard box, not fitted in the machine. The unit seems to work.I didn't try to do a calibration. Etc but it receives fine. I made up some"B" Batteries using 7 ea 9V batteries to power the unit(I will include these batteries with the sales) I tuned in several local AM stations both at the high and low end of the band and had audio out of the headphone jack. remember that the headphone jack is expecting a 2K ohm headphone which was used in the days this unit was popular.modern low impedance headphones will have low level) The meter indicated when a station was tuned in. There is some minor corrosion on the"A" battery(D cells) and I have done my best to clean it with a wire brush and a Dremel tool. Metal on battery clips has not deteriorated and is still there. Unit is complete with a copy of the book which includes the schematic and I printed instructions ... moreon how to make your own"B" batteries(like I used to test it) There are scratches on the case as seen in the photos. The unit is complete with the loop antenna assembly in the lid. Due to the age. I am selling as is with no returns. Meter movement works as well as the step attenuator.
