I hooked an audio signal up to the meter and did get a reading. I tried it at various signal strengths and at various selector switch settings. The meter responded according to the selector switch settings and strength as expected. The accuracy of the readings is unknown. There is a pot adj just below the selector switch. I did not try it. The Meter bounces good when you jiggle it. There appears to be nothing wrong with the meter electrically or mechanically. Meter zeros at left edge. The wood case is in fair to reasonable shape. There is a U.S. Bureau of Mines paper and a Dept. of the Interior sticker on the device. The black device is a 1565-B Sound Level Meter. The small print says Type 2 ANSI S1.4 1971& IEC R123 1961. The serial# on the silver tag is 30817. The rest of the silver tag should be readable in the picture. It takes 2 9v batteries. I put some in and the needle moved. I do not know if it works correctly. I don't know how to use it. The silver tube is a Type 1562-A Sound-Level Calibrator from General Radio. on the back it has"NO 7454" Whatever belonged in the middle three cutouts are gone. From a friend’s estate. A pair of handheld sound level meters, both using standard 9 Volt transistor radio batteries. They are both clean. Missing the foam wind screen balls but otherwise intact. Center 325 stays on all the time when a battery is installed. Can’t figure out how to shut it off. Also has a small shallow scratch on the meter window. The CEM powers up OK. Shuts on/off. I could not find any instructions for either unit. Tried both by holding them near a radio and turning the volume up and down, noted changes in meter readings but can’t vouch for proper calibration, etc. so am selling AS-IS, no returns and no batteries will be shipped with them. I don’t think they were used much. In fact the CEM still has the little clear plastic protector over the meter window. Up for sale is a DT-805 deicbel meter by the brand CEM. It cost me over $200 new about 7 years ago.it has only been used once or twice since i owned it so i decided it was time to sell. This meter has NO signs of ever being used. And still has the screen protector on. It sat in a cabinet 99.9% of it life and was probably only used for about 9 Minutes total. Its last calibration was 12/08 but i fired it up to test it out and it seemed accurate. Selling for over $100.00 on amazon. Measures from 30 to 130 DB.Has fast and slow, and a setting where it holds at the highest DB measurment if you are looking to find the max noise something produces.

Vintage BSR Electronics Music/Sound Level Meter
This sound measuring device came out of an estate sale. and I do not know its history. But it seems to work fine with the meter responding to different levels of sound. This analog meter has a case that is in very good condition showing little use. It uses a 9 V battery(not include) The only use I can figure for it is to measure the sound output from different speakers to see if they are balanced, but it could have other other uses. I do not have instructions for the meter and it has not been calibrated. PayPal only, because of Ebay’s payment policy. I try to maintain the highest level of buyer satisfaction with all my transactions. But I can’t do a thing, if I don’t know a problem exists.

This is a high quality distortion analyzer that is very suitable for lab work on audio amplifiers and related equipment. This is a more modern unit than the commonly used but old HP 331-334 distortion analyzers. The 8903B is digital. Auto ranging, auto-nulling, and more accurate than the old HP series of analog analyzers. A power cord is included and so is a copy of the comprehensive operations and calibration manual I have provided pictures for you to make your own judgment on the condition of this item.
