The ad depicts a woman who seems to be contemplating all the benefits of owning a Singer sewing mating. Five photographs and one graphic along with text gives a plethora of information. The ad itself is in excellent condition. The person I purchased it from made a cardboard frame and wrapped plastic around it to protect it. My husband and I collected memorabilia from our many hobbies- one of mine being sewing- now as retirees and empty-nesters. We are downsizing our smoke- and pet-free home and parting with things cared for but no longer needed. This ad was never displayed in our home and has been stored. Massive Collection 1890s Singer Sewing Souvenir TRade CArds Sets Packs Lot- This is a very large lot with some duplicates as you can see in the photos. some of the cards are in pretty nice shape for their age and some were damaged. Torn or badly water damaged. All of the packets even if they were nefver opened has multiple tears and splits if they are attached as one piece. As you can see in the photos many of the packets have some variance of water spots and there are some there are stuck together. the entire pacific coats set and packet have about a half inch tear on some side and a good portion of the 2nd pacific set is water damaged or stuck together, colorado[packet hasnt been opened all teh way- Brooklyn, pittsburgh, new york up town, boston, wasthington, some packets stuck together, nyc waterfront, south carolina, second washington ... morepacket unopen, nyc downtown, niagara, philly- lots of loose cards, some with tears, some with large water spots, some with teeny, some with teeny circle spots from being on backside in one teeny circular area. Singer Puzzle Box No 8 Attachments VS2 Sewing Machine 1800s Long Bobbins
This is a set of Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Attachments in an Oak Puzzle Box. This looks to be Attachments Style No. 8 for long bobbins from the late 1800s for use on Singer sewing machines. This is a complete set of attachments and also includes one bobbin and a hemmer foot. The attachments can be seen in the photos. It is interesting to see as you look at the close-up of the pictures that most of the attachments are identified with stamped numbers and their position holders also are stamped with the corresponding numbers. You can see these numbers in the close up pictures. Numbers 1-6 are stamped on the hemmers and holders. 7,8, 9, 11, 12, 13,14,15,16,17,18 and 19 are stamped on the holders. All parts are in good condition. In Style No 8. The shirring plate is placed under holder marker 13. The ruffler is positioned in box by holder ... more12 which fits over a screw. Very interesting to this box. The outside of the box is a beautiful flaked golden oak wood in good condition with normal aging and marks for 100 year old wood. The box is lightly stamped with a patent date of February 19. 1889. The puzzle box is very interesting with its four quarters which fold out flat. It is this design that Mr. Griest patented in 1889. This box is solid with a nice original finish. Hinges are brass and in good working order. The closing clasp shuts well. The closed box measures 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" The outside and inside of the box can be seen in the pictures. Part number 12 is imprinted with a patent date of December 25. 1888. The inside of the box is a purple color. The velvet is intact with no tears. This set is useful as working attachments on an old treadle machine or beautiful as a collector's item. The overall objective is to preserve as much as the old tool or item with its lifetime patina as possible without the use of power tools. Metal is typically initially cleaned using mineral oil, or a weak solution of washing soda and water and if necessary brief electrolysis to remove and or convert rust to black oxide. Whichever method is best, a scotch brite plastic cleaning pad is used with water so the underlying metal is not damaged. A heat gun is immediately used to blow dry and eliminate moisture which is followed by a hand rubbed coat of mineral oil. After letting the oil“soak in” for ... morea day or so, the item is wiped cleaned then hand rub in bees wax to seal it. A weak solution of oil soap and water is used to remove grime, old oils and dirt from wood which is air or blowed dry with a heat gun. This is followed by a hand rub of“feed and wax" Normally all other materials are simply wiped clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth as appropriate. If the situation requires it, a soft brass bristle brush or“0000” steel wool is used occasionally. A couple of items should be noted. The first is this gentle process may not remove all rust or dirt, etc, as there is always a balance of limiting restoration to not affect patina. The second is that tools and items are not conditioned for use such as sharpening, tightening or replacement of parts. The serial number of this machine is AE690916. It has very nice gold graphics and they are in very nice condition. Actually, I only wiped off the dust on this machine so you could get an honest look at its appearance. All of the metal work is really nice and looks good. The two beautiful scrolled pieces the are a chrome finish are very nice and the pictures don't do them justice. The belt is broken from being dry out, but the motor runs as it should and is quiet. I have no accessories for this machine and please look good at the pictures because I wouldn't know if something was missing. The hand wheel moves nicely and the needle goes up and down nicely. ... moreThis machine uses the knee lever and it operates as it should. The light works and the power cord is good. The wooden dome shows it's age and wear. As the pictures show, there is a small hole in it and one of the sides is seperated a little. I did not polish this or anything, so you are getting an honest look at it. I think it would look fine with some lemon oil or old english. I do not have the key for the lid. I know this is heavy and shipping will cost you some. I know you will have to get a few things to put this into use, so I feel I am pricing this very reasonable for a quick sale and some room for you. Antique Industrial Singer Double Needle Post Sewing Machine 52W100
This machine has been sitting around and needs a home. I have not run it at speed on a table with motor but it sews both needles turnning it by hand. It shines because it was sprayed with a protective liquid wax to prevent rust. It has wear spots in the finish in spots from use. The gears are in good shape and it rolls nice. It may need some fine tunning to run perfect but it is in good mechanical shape. I hate to sell it but I don't have a use for it in my upholstery shop and it would be better for it to get used. 1/8" guage. Nice clean bobbin caps. Good hooks. This auction is for the machine head only. No table or motor. It would need an industrial table with motor to run. I have a wooden forward tilt adapter in another auction this machine would fit on. You can find it in my other items. It is the one with one end open. With that ... moreadapter you could mount this head on almost any standard industrial table.
