Hay Probe Core Sampler
This is a hay probe used to take proper samples of bailed hay to have analyzed for its nutritional content etc. Instructions are inlcuded with the probe and it is simple to use. Attache the end of the probe to an electric drill and drill into the end of the bail so the probe is cutting across the blades of the hay. The probe has a serated cutting surface on the business end which cuts and mixes the hay. Once you drill all the way into the bail. Pull the probe out discontect from the drill and push the sample into a poly bag with the included pusher dowel. We bought this when we had a horse with equine metabolic syndrome and we had to test every lot of hay for content so we knew what he was really eating. I have a very nice John Deere 3970 chopper with hay and 2 row corn head fore sale. I have see this unit sell in the range of 9.000 to 15,000 on tractor house and I am asking less than 1/4 of that. This chopper is all hydro and runs off 1 set of remotes. I also have the control box for this chopper and the special tow hook up. This is a big chopper and works great just have no use for it anymore and is 1000 PTO only. As far as I can remember there is no welding done on this chopper and I did not see any at time of picture.
