This tester will test almost any tube. This unit will test 4 pin. 5 pin, 6 pin, 7 pin, octal, loctal, 7 pin miniature, 9 pin, and many other tubes. This unit is missing the cover. This unit works great and readings are comparable to readings on my Hickok 539A and my TV-7/B. I tested the following tubes and had good results: 5Y3. 6L6, 6V6, 6SN7, 6DJ8 and 12AX7. I acquired these from a lady whose father had been a Radio/ TV Repairman in Ohio back in the 1940's& ... more50's. These were his personal testers and were in working order when they moved here to Florida in the late 1950's and they have been sitting in her garage ever since then. I do not know how to operate or test them so being sold as is and untested. Please ask questions and I will do my best to answer them. For your Bidding consideration in this Auction is a Vintage HICKOK MODEL 600-A Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester accompanied by a Hickok CRT-1 Adapter in the original Box. It Measures 17" X 11" X 8" Cosmetically. It appears in very nice condition, some light surface rust ina fw spots but no dings or damage. The case is complete and has normal age related wear. The Adapter aslo appears in good condition, the red electric cord has a small split causing the cloth around the wire inside to be exposed but not the wire itself. The Adapter Box is very fragile and was in pieces when I got it. As shown, I have taped it all back together and, while not cosmetically appealing, it is now functional. There is some paper work with the Adapter(see Photo) and a plastic Instruction Manual Card. There is also an original Instruction Manula for the 600-A Tester, a Guarnbatee Certicficate and a Tube Data Sheet. Shipping weight estimate is 21 pounds. Nice w/ Manuals Here's a nice Hickok 752A Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester I picked up from the estate sale of an vintage electronics and radio enthusiuast last spring. I bought it to compare to and compete with my Hickok 600A. And I would keep the one I preferred. I've used and tested it over the last few months and it works well. the readings on it correspond well with my 600A albeit. They are scaled differently and can't match precisely. But based upon my simple needs, I've decided to keep the 600A and sell the 752A, mainly because it's really far more tester than I need or require. It's like me keeping a Ferrari to go grocery shopping: One really nice feature is the ability to test both sides on dual tubes, like 6SN7s and 12AX7s, by simply pressing an additional ... morebutton without changing settings. Cosmetically. The tester is in quite nice shape. The faceplate is very clean and looks good, the sockets seem tight and thre are 3 socket savers included. There is also a folder containing several manulas, such as instruction, obsolete tubes, and tube readings. The case is a bit worn, but overasll goos shape. It's certainly in far better shape that many other 50+ year old tresters I've had. The 752As are quite nice testers. And one of the better Hickoks out there and several steps beyond simple emission testers. Hickoks are well respected testers, and this one should suit someone quite well. Don't let it get away! I purchased this WE KS-15750-L2 Tube Tester early this year to finalize the design and testing of the new DIGITAL MAIN METERS as shown in one of the pictures. It was upgraded with enhancements and now that the project is finished its surplus. The Digital Main Meters are being offered for sale by our group VHSystems on eBay. CONDITION: The metal case is in really good condition with a few markings from normal use. Faceplate knobs and meters are in very good condition. The electronics are nice. The roll chart works well and has the Western Electric types listed. The original handle has been replaced with a new heavy duty equipment handle. Pictures show all parts of the unit including the enhancements. The Digital Multimeter and the Digital Main Meter shown in the pictures are not included. Calibration and tests performed: Rectifiers 83 and 5Y3GT were replaced with solid state devices. This conversion plugs into the tube sockets and can be removed. A combination of zener diodes and rectifiers to match the tubes being removed. It also provides a load to the power transformer filament windings for power stability from load to no load variations. Plate Current pin jacks were added for testing plate current with a Digital Multimeter. Bias Selenium Rectifier was replaced with Silicon Rectifiers. Bias. Main Meter and VR Voltage Electrolytic Capacitors replaced. The large self bias can capacitor removed& replaced with modern small ones. A terminal strip was installed where the self bias capacitor was removed. Grounded line cord installed that attaches to the terminal strip. Main Meter was tested for Full Scale with120 uA and 180 mV. All three meters meet specifications. Return to zero and do not stick. Calibration was verified using Hickok’s procedures in the supplied manual. Hickok 546 Tube Tester for Parts Only, Accessories and Original Manual Included
What once was a very nice tube tester. My inspection includes the following: I could not adjust the line voltage as the gauge did not respond at all to the adjustment. However the gauge did move when the switch was placed in resistance mode, so the gauge may still work. The 9 pin socket has been replaced by some strange blue socket- it is not original. The push buttons may or may not work the Gm button and the rectifier buttons stick. The transformer looks like it has been replaced with one that was larger than the original. The roll chart does work smoothly. All buttons and knobs appear to be original. Power chord has been replaced. This tester is sold as is for parts or not working. The panel and knobs are in very good shape. Both vacuum tubes tested strong. The accessories are in like new condition, not sure if they were ever used. Hickok 538 for Parts or Repair. NO RESERVE There are two transformers in this model and they are both working. That is about the only part you cant replace in these old testers so thats important. Heater voltage OK Plate Voltage OK( above 150 but I didn't use a shunt resistor when checking on a digital meter- so seems like would be about 150) Screen voltage OK Bias changes with bias control( about-40 at max) Meter appears functional and moves when switch is in the VOM function. Meter does not move when P4 is pressed in tube mode. You can hear the tranny hum change sound a little when P4 is pressed so I believe the tube is under test conditions just not getting to the meter. Likely location is the mode switch but its pretty buried under the VOM section and I didn't want to damage it as Im not familiar with that portion of this Hickok. ... moreso Im passing this along to someone who may be better equipped to fix. case is in fair condition. Wood is intact but no handle and the covering is peeling a bit in places. This unit has two transformers IT IS REALLY HEAVY! US sales only Lower 48 states pay flat $60 shipping. AK. Hello. Up for sale is a Vintage Hickok Model 532 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester. This unit does not come with a case. It has been panel mounted in my shop until I recently moved. This listing is For Parts not Working. However. The only flaw I am aware of is that it cannot power the heaters of any 12.6V tubes, like 12ax7's etc. This unit does test 6.3v tubes and I use it regularly to test 6l6's, el34's, and other common octal power pentode's. If you look at the last picture. You will see a switch that I think is the culprit of why the 12.6V heater circuit is not working. Maybe you have one: I think this price is fair. HICKOK CARDMATIC 1230 TUBE TESTER - VERY CLEAN - NEEDS REPAIRS - 123 / 123A
Nice Hickok 1230 tube tester in very clean condition. Too bad it needs repair work. As seen in the third picture testing a known good 12AX7 the meter does not read into the green zone as it should on line 2 and as seen in the fourth picture the needle does not fully return to zero, if left to sit off for a period of time the needle will return closer to zero but it never quite gets there. Several other known good tubes have been tested and only one read into the green zone and I believe that one was a rectifier tube. The meter is labeled 123A, this may or may not be the correct meter for this- I'm sure the Hickok aficionados will know and maybe share a bit of knowledge as WEB searches have revealed little info on this tester, any shared info will be posted in the Q&A section at the bottom of the page. Thumbing through the test cards ... morethey appear to all be in excellent condition, there are an estimated 500+ cards included inside the case, the cards are marked"123" I assume the 123/A tester is very similar to this tester, see my other listing for a HUGE set of 123/A cards that will work in this tester. The tester accepts and releases the test cards with no issues, the power stays on and the off switch works well. The power cord is dry rotted and will need replaced, the case is nice showing only a couple of minor blemishes in the tolex, the metal hardware outside the case is mostly clean with some minor flash rust, the leather handle shows some minor cracking and is still very solid, the inside panel is very nice and clean- I can't imagine this will need a lot to get it going again- possibly just needing re-caped and the tubes replaced, that seems to do the trick on most of these old testers from my experience. The tester is large and heavy weighing in at almost 42 pounds and measuring approximately 20.5" by 17" by 9.5" no manuals or other literature is included. Up for sale is a very early Hickok model AC 47 mutual conductance tube tester with Hickok Multiplex socket adapter. In green velvet padded carrying case with leather handle. This was Hickok's 5th model of tube tester introduced in 1930, and is in real nice cosmetic condition, though please note that due to the age of this Hickok tester I have not plugged it in, so working condition is unknown and am selling as-is and as-found, due to being 80+ years old I'm sure some component testing should be done before powering up. Vintage Hickok Model 600A Tube Tester w Instructions Manual w Roll Chart
This is a great estate find from upstate NY. It is a Hickok model 600A tube tester. It has the instruction manual and a roll chart. I don't have any tubes to test nor do I know anything about tube testers. I cannot verify the working condition of this tester because of my lack of knowledge. I do know that the light(as seen in the photo) does turn on although it does flicker very faintly. The chord is a little stiff and there are a couple rips in the rubber towards the plug. It measures 17" wide. 11" deep and 8" tall and is in a hard case that snaps closed. There is some wear to the red case, such as spots where the bare wood is showing through and one of the metal feet has pushed through the wood case. Up for sale here is this vintage Hickok 600A tube tester. I picked up this tester from an estate many years ago. And it has been sitting on a box in my basement since then. I plugged it in and two light bulbs on the front lit up very faintly, but I tried to test a tube and got nothing. The bulbs stopped lighting up after that. I would assume that this needs recalibration at minimum, and possibly more than that. The big sprague grey thing on the back(resistor? appears to be cracked. The paper roll scrolls smoothly and reads great. Cord is fine. I have not cleaned, repaired, tested, or worked on this in any way. This tester has no case unfortunately. Hickok 533A Tube Tester. This is an exceptionally clean tester that shows only minimal signs of use. There are a few scuffs on the case. But it otherwise looks and functions fine. The face is nice and bright and also looks very good. I see a few splotches of discoloration but nothing that stands out. The tester works great. As you can see from the images it calibrates to line voltage. It addition, I am showing it testing a 12AX7. the test results are commensurate with my calibrated Hickok 539C tester. Tester was always in shop with the same atmosphere as the living quarters of a home. Switches have that low hours feel. Meter is working fine. Hickok 533AS Tube Tester
I have recently found a Heathkit TT-1 which works better for me. So I'm selling this 533AS. I have refurbished this tester a little about 2 years ago. I replaced the power cord with a grounding cord and cleaned/lubed the switches and mechanisms. The unit shows some wear on top but is in overall very good condition. The paper roll works great and the chassis is very clean inside. I just tested the 5Y3GT and Type 80 tubes in it on my TT-1 and they both test very good. The tester has three gm ranges: 3000, 6000 and 15000 micromhos, and also a pass/fail(English) selection. I have used it very little testing some tubes for old shortwave receivers I occasionally work on. Included are an eleven page copy of the Operator Manual and a two page copy of the Calibration procedure. I have never calibrated the unit but it seems to test ok. Hickok Vintage Dynamic Mutual Conductance Model 534 Vacuum Tube Tester Analyser
Hi. Powers up but not tested. Have had this gem in my storage for 20 years. Always thinking I'd restore it. I'm not ever going to get around to it so I'm letting it go, and you can restore it. Missing a couple knobs. Plywood is coming apart. Hinges and hasps are intact and working. I removed the tester from the cruddy case, and it was remarkably clean inside. Dusty, but not shot like the outside of the case. Looks to be intact inside, with no molestation of the internal components. Needs cleaning and calibration and who knows what else it might need. Up for bid is a Hickok built KS-15750-L1 tube tester. This machine is similar to the Hickok 539-c and was built for the Western Electric Company by Hickok and includes testing data for Western Electric tubes such as the 300B etc. both on the roll chart and in the supplementary tube data manual. Included in this sale are the following: The tester. A grid cap lead, a larger plate cap connector so you can build a lead that will allow you to check tubes such as an 811A without holding the grid cap lead to the plate cap(see picture) a copy of the operations manual and a copy of the Obsolete Supplementary Test Data Manual, and the Daven 4416B Self Bias Decade Resistor. In my opinion, the condition of this unit is very good both cosmetically and functionally. The cabinet is clean inside and out as is the tester itself. The face of the tester has ... moresome light scratching and the repainted cabinet has some scratches also(see pictures) All meters, switches and pots work well-roll chart does too. The only fault I could find with any of this is that the far left filament switch is a little stiff in a couple of positions, but I think that this is more from lack of use than anything. I deoxed it and lubed it and that helped. I tested tubes in what I think to be the most used sockets and had no problems with connectivity(specifically the octal, 4, 6, 7, 9, pin sockets) Taken all together, with the way the switches and pots work and given the tightness of the tube sockets plus no distinguishable wear around the thumbwheel for the chart roller I don't believe that this tester has had a great deal of use. Hickok 1575 Research and Development RD R&D Western Electric Tube Tester
Great tester but probably needs calibration. Comes as shown with book. All meters work fine and from what I can tell so do switches and controls. Sockets are tight. I don't think this has seen much use. I have had this for some time and just have not got to it. I was going to calibrate or have someone to calibrate the machine. Appears to be in great shape. No unusual smells or noises. Calibrate it yourself or send it to your tech.

VINTAGE HICKOK TUBE TESTER MODEL 600 - FIXER UPPER OR PARTS - POWERS UP, NO LID!
Up for auction is a vintage Hickok tube tester Model 600. This unit has a missing lid/cover. The 5Y3 and 83 tubes are in working order. But the 83 is probably on its last legs, just an FYI. The tubes are dated 0-43 and 0-50. The meter is in working order too. Some mounting screws are missing and the case has normal wear, scratches, and a few gouges. The scroll works and is dated 12-1-56. All knobs and switches are in tact and appear to be functional. I was able to power this unit up without any fuss as you can see in the pictures. I tested three different tubes.80. 6CG7, and 6F6G. After testing the three tubes, I found the readings a bit lower in comparison with my TV7 tester. The worst reading was the first side of the 6CG7 as this tube is in good condition(both sides) but came up with a false bad. I also had trouble with testing a 12AX7, ... morewhere neither side gave me a reading for whatever reason. I believe all this unit needs is a good cleaning and calibration and some TLC. Unfortunately. I have no know-how in performing these things. This would make for a good candidate as a fixer upper or you may be inclined to use it for parts. The choice is yours. Hickok 6000A Tube Tester Nice Condition Works Great & Accurate
Hickok 6000A mutual conductance tube tester. Great working condition and can be seen in the photos in the line adjust position and testing a NOS 6L6 with accurate results. Average new value for a 6L6 is 5000 and tested 5300 which is very close to the reading on my calibrated TV7 and tested several other tubes also with great results. It has not been calibrated but I did check some of the voltages as per the calibration instructions in the manual which also is included with the tester and they were within range so I did not bother. The meter& panel are in excellent shape and all sockets are clean and tight and all knobs. Switches, buttons and roll chart work freely and as they should. Hi. For your consideration is a working Hickok 752A Tube Tester. I used this tester for many years testing power and preamp tubes for my vintage tube bass amps. Case has some minor wear from normal use. But is still in good condition for its age. Tube setting roll chart at bottom is legible and lights up when power is turned on. What sets the 762A apart from other testers is the ability to test dual triodes such as 12AX7. 6DJ8, etc. without changing switch settings. You just push another switch. HICKOK 752 Mutual Conductance Tube Tester VG Condition/ Works/ Great for Audio Very nice Hickok model 752. These are the famous FAA type tube testers. Clean inside and out. Excellent panel and working roll chart. There is some normal wear around the roll chart thumb wheel and short switch otherwise looks great. The outer black fabric case is in much better shape than normally found. Please see the pictures for condition. Clean. Original chassis. Tested fine with several typical audio tubes. The 752 has some special features not found on most Hickok tube tester. One of these features is the ability to check double section tubes(like 12AX7) without resetting the selector switches to test the second triode. You simply push the"Plate 2" button and the quality of the second tube section is automatically registered on the meter. This ... moremakes this tester an ideal one for the audiophile market as audio equipment is typically loaded with double triodes. Hickock replaced the 539 with the 752. These still used the basic Hickok GM two tube circuit and the 752 was considered a laboratory tester and had additional functions such as the second grid setting and capability to test multistage tubes without reconfiguration. While this tester is working fine. it is highly recommended that the switches and contacts be cleaned and it be checked out by a qualified technician. The two tubes in the tester are both RCA, 83 and 5Y3, were new in 10/2013 and both tested and balanced. This tester did not come with this case and is held down with only four screws although in the original case all ten were used. The plate on the case goes to this tester and the cases and plates were swapped with another tester. We did not plan on selling this tester and the appearance of the case was unimportant ... moreas long as the tester functioned properly. All the specs were checked and the tester calibrated in 10/2013 and has been used little since. Notes during the calibration were recorded on a blank page in the manual. We use an outside source for the calibration tube and the tester is reading 5400 for Gm and the tube calls for 5475. This could be easily corrected. And according to the calibration procedures, the shunt dial would be tagged about one number or so lower to show 5475, but that has not been done and will be left up to the new owner. The calibration tube's Gm reading is from a 533A and from a very reputable and trusted source. The Hickok 6000 series is fairly simple to calibrate and instructions on calibration. The manual, and updated foreign and domestic tube data is readily available at no charge. The calibration can be done using a DMM as long as shunts are used and this tester was calibrated using both an analog and DMM. This tester has a pot to set the line voltage and with a 6L6 in the socket the line is at 6.2 volts which is where it needs to be. Highest quality Military Hickok AN/USM 118B Cardmatic Mutual Conductance tube tester. This tester was manufactured for the military and is built built built. It has a very strong heavy gauge metal carrying case that is water proof. This tester was calibrated and used many years ago. Has been sitting inside a climate controlled environment in a closet. I did test a 6550 power tube and it did work as can be seen from the picture. As with all vintage tube electronics, they may need cleaning, adjusting, calibrating, repairing and all other maintenance required for proper restoration. These 118B tube testers are very reliable and this one seems to work fine, may just need to be used. Up for auction is Hickok CR 35 CRT Analyzer/Rejuvenator.Tube tester. it is stamped on front May 11 1967. it has no manual with it but I seen one for sale on ebay.
