Vintage Leitz Polarizing (Petrographic) microscope very fine condition, model KM
This offering is for a very. Very fine Leitz Polarizing, or Petrographic Microscope, model KM, serial number 213439, dating from approximately 1923. Condition is truly amazing, especially considering the age- the original lacquer is very nearly perfect, as you can see. The black paint on the stand is near perfect. The rack and pinion motions for the main tube, and for the condenser are silky smooth. Fine focus is fine, though this mechanism uses gravity to go"down" and being a bit stiff from age, needs a bit of pressure aid from a finger for reliable fine focus down. Plano-convex mirror is fine. Substage, their then type"B" is fine. Iris works fine. Stage is fine, and rotates smoothly, and has two clips. The calcite prisms for the polarizer and analyzer are very good and clear, and work well. The outfit still has its little ... morered leatherette covered case, which fits into the cabinet, and in which are held the three objectives(on collars) Leitz Numbers 1, 3 and 6, of powers 3.2, 10 and 45) The eyepiece(30 mm diameter) is 6.3 x m. Thus, with these optics, your overall magnifications are 20, 63, and 283, however, numerous Leitz(and other) objectives, and eyepieces, can be found on eBay so just about any reasonable power of magnification one could desire can be found.In the red box, in addition to the objectives on their collars, are the two objective centering wrenches, to precisely center the optic axis on the axis of stage rotation, and the usual two wave plates, 1/4 and full wave, both looking and working perfectly. Objectives and the eyepiece are optically fine. I do not believe I have seen a nicer microscope of this age! Magnificent for display, and quite functional, essentially as when new. You will recognize that one picture is from a Leitz catalog of that era, the other eleven are of this instrument. The case has had a repair to the back. Antique Vintage Rare Emil Busch A. G. Rathenow Jug Handle Microscope
Up for sale is a very nice Emil Busch A. G. Rathenow jug handle microscope. This German made microscope is in very good condition. The mirror is in good condition. The iris works well, and the condenser is clear- see photos. The serial number is 10358. The microscope comes with three ocular lenses marked 2, 3 and 4, and the three objectives are marked E 4mm, 2, 1/12 01-Jm 2mm. The microscope comes with a very nice oak box(no key) The box has a crack in the back but is mostly in good condition. Look through the pictures and ask questions. I don't know much about this particular maker and have not seen many microscopes by Emil Busch A. G. Rathenow. This is a wonderful fully functional microscope and will make a great addition to any collection.

Up for sale is a VINTAGE SKILCRAFT BINOCULAR MICROSCOPE LAB IN STEEL BOX 50X.250X,500X WITH STEEL CASE. The microscope is in good working condition. The slide holder adjusts up and down the Binocular viewer adjusts fine. There is no bulb for the illuminator and I think it uses a AA battery( not included) The operators manual is in the kit and there is one frosted slide. The steel case has some rust on the outside. I know this kit is not complete so view all photos because what is in the photos is what you will receive. I am no expert in the field of microscopes or any other Lab equipment. I have looked through the Binocular lens and with the use of the mirror and I was able to view. The microscope stands at 10 5/8" tall 3 1/2" wide X 5 1/2" depth and the carrying case measures at 13 1/2" tall X 9 1/2" wide X 6' ... moredepth. I was unable to locate a model number anywhere in the instructions or on the microscope itself but I am sure someone that is familiar with this type will know and understand exactly what type this is. Although the body is labelled EH, it appears to be the body style of the FH model. This microscope is in excellent working condition. A real workhorse. It has a focusable condensor. Adjustible light intensity, and a gear-driven XY mechanical stage. The 5-place turret is equipped with 4 Plan Apochromat objectives: 4X- 0.10 na 10X- 0.25 na 40X- 0.65 na 100X Spring-loaded oil- 1.30 na The oculars are 10X wide-field. And it still works great. lots of brass parts! The turret magnifications are 10X. 18X, 60X and 100X. The eye piece is 15X. All magnifying lenses are marked Otto Siebert der Jungere over Wetzler. There is part of a small adjuster knob missing on the front of the platform(where spring is protruding) and there may be some part missing from the platform itself. The mirror appears to be relatively clear except for one area which I did not attempt to clean. This is just a very excellent and rare example of an early 20th Century microscope. Antique early 20th Century C. Reichert Wein medical microscope. Reichert started their company in Vienna in 1876. My research tells me this is pre 1920. However I am no expert. The microscope has a serial number and the original oak dove tailed box has the same matching number as well. The back of the box is missing but would be a simple fix. The overall condition is very nice and appears to have all its parts as shown in the photos. All working parts are functional. It is a very unique and rare piece of medical history and displays very well. Easily could be cleaned and polished and it would look like new.
