I have a pile of these HP8640B Generators. And pulled one out and powered it on. It looks like it is working for the most part, It tunes smoothly, and all the controls seems to work. I did not see a level on the output meter, so I hooked it to a spectrum analyzer and found it was putting out on all bands but the meter was not indicating the RF level, so maybe there is an issue in the power detector circuit or the meter switch(dirty contacts) It is not all beat up like a military unit usually is, this was at a private company that closed down. It has option 001, the internal variable frquency modulation source and is.5-512 MHz unit. There may be a problem with the 10 dB step on the attenuator, or it may need cleaned or something as it was not working. I have listed it as parts as I do not want anyone disappointed, but when given a cursory ... morecheck-out, appears fine, however sold"As-Is" I am not a used equipment dealer, just a guy with a lot of stuff!
