Hi. For auction is my used Carvin DCM 1000 Power Amplifier. Channel one has a distortion that sounds like a driver is blown. It is present in stereo, parallel, and bridge mode. I have checked the inputs and outputs and changed out cables for each. I don't know what the cause is. There is no hum or buzz. Channel 2 worked fine, but the amp is being sold for parts/not working. Vintage Audire Model 1 Power Amplifier made at Fountain Valley CA Serial Number 1100. The front plate measures 6" x 16" and is about 12 7/8" deep. Monster component weighs over 25 pounds! It comes from the estate of former president of Simmons College. The estate was filled with high-end audiophile equipment. We guarantee it works fine. According to information online. Audire model 1, as well as other Audire products, were chosen by legendary speaker builder B&W to showcase their speakers at a New York Audio Show some years ago. The amplifier is rated at 100 watts per channel and sounds very clean. Very good cosmetic condition with a few small scratches and nicks(VERY presentable condition) Summary: This is one of the finest sounding amplifiers ever made. It has fine high frequency detail. Superb midrange and huge, tight ... morebass. A look inside shows why: It has a 1000 watt transformer and capacitors big enough to arc weld. The Model 2(100 wpc) is placed between the Crescendos(60 or 75 watts) and the Dual Mono Forte(125 watts/ ch) All three are of such fine quality and sound that when B&W introduced its new models at the annual New York Audio Show. The Crescendo powered the DM17s and 7s, the Model 2 powered the 802s, DM7s, and DM14s, while the Fortes were used to bi-amp the brand new 801s. I have ABed my two model 2s against Adcom, Phase Linear/Carver, NAD, and Ampzilla. Compared to these fine products, the Model 1 had more separation of the various instruments, more detail in the midrange and high frequencies, and exceptionally tight and detailed bass.
