I am not anything close to being a scientist so it is completely out of my league to give a really good description. In my novice opinion only all of the lens are in acceptable condition. They may need to be cleaned. We did shine a flash light on the mirror with a dirty cue tip over the hole and were able to see an image. Other than this the item is untested. Basically I wouldn't know how to thoroughly test this item. Both of the eye pieces that you look in slide out and are removable. Please look over all the pictures carefully and make sure this is a good item for you because I will NOT accept a return. However, this was the personal property of a lady scientist, and all of her items were in pristine condition, and all in working order. As a lady scientist who worked in the 1940's, when many women were not in the field of microscopic studies, I am sure she worked hard to pay for these items, and she took care of them. We have sold many items of hers, and the buyers have been very pleased. This was her personal piece, from her home. As we have no way to test it. The initial price is low. Here is a lot of six wood possibly vintage with black vinyl? outside microscope slide boxes. Perhaps from an old school class on biology. One is slightly smaller see photo. Boxes are black with metal clasps(some discoloration on clasps) Found at an estate sale and hoped someone can make use of them. Cosmetics are fairly good but vinyl is not perfect in total; insides look fine and ready to hold up to 100 slides in each box. Size is approximately 11" x 8" x 1 1/4" In addition is one wood box that holds 50 slides looks like new. The small wood box on the center left in photo has over twenty slides of some animal organs of unknown source. NOTE: I have over ten of these small wood boxes with the animal organ slides to be listed.

Vintage scientific microscope lenses and attachments
There are four pieces. They were in a box with the paper that has Edmund Scientific on it. I can't tell if allow any of these pieces are Edmund? You are buying as is. There is one lens that is marked Germany. Another attachment or piece is marked Microscope Adapter T2. The other two appear to be metal attachments and are unmarked. The one appears to be the same paint and finish as another piece I harp e listed but I could not match them up anywhere. Very ice pieces but appear to be parts to other items. The Germany marked piece is a very nice looking lens.

Designed for Chinese Army Field Hospitals- S olidly-built with components mounted to a metal structure. The microscope was designed for Chinese Army field hospital. Deployed military clinical laboratory field use, in the 1970s with the limited production ending toward the end of that decade. The serial number of the microscope listed here suggests it was built c. 1974. This is one of those rare Chinese products not designed for inexpensive export. It was designed for. Perhaps the most powerful component of Chinese society, the Chinese Army and thus designed and built to an unusually high standard. This is, perhaps, the most functional and capable field microscope ever made. This and the earlier Nikon H are the royalty ... moreof portable field microscopes. This is a great display item! It is a Gilbert Microscope in the original wood display box. The microscope is in good vintage condition. Everything appears to be clear but I don't know for sure if it is fully functional. The box has the original green coloring with the original labels. There are two hinged doors that have a hook with the"Gilbert" name in raised letters. When you open the doors there are two shelves on the inside and holders on the inside of each of the doors. There are 3 glass tubes included as well. The wood box features a handle at the top and interlocking wood corners. The box measures 14 3/4" tall by 4 1/2" wide by 9 3/4" long. Then put the cap back on,and put it to the light. The manual indicated that it was copyrighted in 1927 by S.L.S. in New York, but printed in France. There are a couple of nicks on the side, and there are some tears in the paperwork, but, over all, it is in pretty good shape.
