John Deere planter plates- 7 different pairs-great for food plots etc.
This auction is for a mixed lot used Lustran planter plates for many of the old John Deere planters that used planter plates. There are 7 different sets of two plates(total of 14 plates) and these are for corn. Included are a good selection of sizes and shapes of the seed cells so you should be able to match up to several different shapes of corn seeds. these will work in the John Deere 71 units that many of the food plot planters for wildlife use. The plate numbers are B1.B2-16,B8-16,B7-16,all of those are 16 cell plates) and B9-24x, B19-24,B54-24(all24 cell plates. These plates have been used and they have some signs of use. Scratches, some dirt and grease stains, stains from seed coating, seed treatment stains, graphite stains etc, but they should have considerable life in them yet. I washed them, but could not get all the stains to come ... moreoff and that should not bother your planting. I am selling these as is. With no warranty or guarantee. Row width is set at 30" which is the most common. This is a 3 point mounted planter with cat 1 pins. Brackets are bolt on so they can be easily adjusted in or out. Planter stands are included which allows for easy hookups. Included is set of sprockets for changing seed population. These are stored conviently inside the planter bar(see pic) Sprockets in use are placed at the end of the bar where they are easy to get at and change if wanted. Comes with a seeding chart to determine which sprocket to use for a certain population. Seeding depth is adjustable with the quick adjust T handle. Planter has truvee opener discs with dual guage wheels for accurate seed placement. Press wheels have ... moreadjustable down pressure. This is a plate planter. Comes with choice of corn milo or soybean plates. Additional plates are $5 each. Plates are available for other crops. Such as pumpkin and sunflowers, at and other places on the web. Can even buy a blank plate to make your own. This planter as the ability to apply fertilizer while planting. There rear box(formerly an insecticide box) has had a meter installed to regulate and distribute dry granular fertilizer. It will apply up to 100 lbs. per acre. Other options I can add if wanted: 1) Furrow openers are 2 discs positioned in a v-shape in front of the seed discs. Used to clear trash and clods in front of the opener. Helps level the ground for the planter row unit. For auction is a John Deere 8350 drill. It is in good condition. It has 20 openers on 8 inch spacings. This makes it 13' 3' planting width. Its about 15' overall. Drill box has 2 compartments. One for seed and one for fertilizer. You can seed and fertilizer at the same time. Hydraulic cylinder in photo is not included in auction price. It is available to the winning bidder for an additional $100. Drill meters are driven by drills wheels. It pulls easily. Because of its size, this drill would work good for the small farm or food plot guy. Look at the photo of the seed charts(located on bottom side of lid of both boxes) to determine what it will plant.
