Up for your consideration a beautiful condition working Shore antique metal hardness tester(Scelariscope) I bought this years back at a estate sale. I wanted to make it into a lamp. But I could not see altering it in any way. Also my wife is not too fond of it; This instrument comes with the original case(I unfortunately never had the key) two standardized metal test blocks and the two metal objects seen. I believe the pointed rod is an additional testing shaft. The mounted shaft has the original diamond crystal still in great shape and attached. I believe that this unit is fairly rare as I had sent pictures to the Smithsonian years ago and they were interested in acquiring it. They would only give me a tax receipt-so much for that!
