It’s not as if I try to appear all snooty and literary all the time, it’s just that I’m so damned intelligent, I can’t help it.

Today’s obscure literary reference is about a just released book of love poems, and hell, we like the cover:

Sure, love poems might not rank high on the reading list for the Undergrounders, but it’s nice to see trout finning their way through the zeitgeist without an SUV commercial wrapped around them.

We’ll keep a close eye on this breaking poetry story.

[UPDATE: Killing Trout was just released ($14 +$2 shipping); mention the Trout Underground and receive a signed copy)

See you in the poetry section, Tom Chandler.

You’ve no doubt been holding your breath — waiting to see which of you lucky bastards was going to win a free copy of Patrick McManus’ new book Kerplunk.

Because we’re all about high-tech here at the Underground, I found a Random Number Generator that uses atmospheric “noise” to generate truly random numbers.

This impressively scientific process (always nice to see the Internet fully employed in the service of mankind) resulted in the integer “9″ — a lucky number indeed for book winner “Ethan” (who should contact me to receive his book).

Let the revelry begin!

More wildly valuable giveaways coming soon. See you at the freebie counter, Tom Chandler.
