I don’t get the tournament thing at all…. I’m just glad the cancer has thus far not metastasised into cold water…. a small charity tourney to raise money is one thing for fun. At a friends insistence I fished the musky tourney last year (only one with silk and bamboo go figure) it was a light hearted good time to raise money. . The whole angling as a competitive sport is just disgusting to me….. I’ve seen the floating bass after the idiots get done on our southern lakes sad to see it impacting tarpon too…
So could we start a “shat” coffee conglomerate????…. if elephant is $500 bucks pound we should be able to get $100 for beagle $4.99 store brand whole bean, $5.00 for gloves and washing stuff, $.25 for custom printed “organic” paper packaging (I’m thinking sharpie on paper lunch bags for that “authentic rustic” appeal) ….About $89.76 in profit per pound…. Now I just gotta find some wealthy hippies to sell it too…. retirement to a private water ranch “estate” in Montana is now in reach……..Tom get the marketing started… I’ll be in the yard picking up my retirement plan….

You’re not thinking “exclusive” enough. If a giant pachyderm’s waste is worth $500/pound (OK, the coffee *in* the waste), then we need to move up to more exclusive animals.
Because of the danger, Lion coffee would have to fetch at least $750 pound. Cheetah coffee (how fast do you have to run to get a pound) would be $900.
And for the morbidly patriotic, Eagle Coffee would fetch at least $1000.
Deer-and-Elk-generated “bubba” brands would go for less, but then, we wouldn’t have to separate out the waste materials from the coffee.
Now how’s that retirement looking?
