The Bagley/McCloud wildfire seems to be holding at the McCloud River firebreak, though with the winds due to kick up a little today, I think everyone's holding their breath (even firefighters):
Today's Update: All containment lines held last night including those along the McCloud River. Today winds are expected to increase which may increase fire activity within containments along the fire's northwest flank. Firefighters will be positioned to respond to potential increased fire activity and will patrol for spot fires. While the increased winds could challenge firefighters today, it may also help them identify remaining hot-spots within containment lines. Crews will mop-up any newly identified hot spots near containment lines.
The fire's 82% contained (

It's not every day that one of California's most popular rivers serves as a firebreak, and suddenly, the kind of winter and spring weather we get looms a little larger.
Yesterday was pretty clear here at the Underground, but this morning the wind shifted and now we're clearly living California's Smoking Section.
