Some of these are useful and some — particularly those blocking access to anadromous fish — are pretty damned harmful (as Singlebarbed would say, the only way to be sure is to nuke ‘em from orbit).




























And I bet those are the ones that appear in some government database. The ex-Brook Trout stream down the hill has three dams on it that I know of (creating lovely eco-experience enhancing ornamental ponds) and I bet they’re not on that database.

If they’re not in the database, would anyone miss them if they were (ahem) removed?
