These time-lapse photos were shot from the International Space Station from August to October, 2011 with a low-light camera. I love the strobing thunder and the green auroras.
From up there — absent any sign of politics, pollution, scandals or Donnie Beaver — it all looks pretty nice.

Very cool. Photography from space has come along way from those first grainy black and white pictures that they beamed back from the moon when I was a kid.

I’d be the most worthless astronaut ever. They’d never be able to pry me away from the window.

I’m with Mark — I’d be the first astronaut to get fired. I’d be staring out the window all the time.
Also, I heard that the Spring Ridge Club just secured the fishing rights to the canals of Mars and the oceans on Venus. NASA’ll probably auction off the rights to fishing in the Space Station loo before long.

I’m totally in favor of sending Donnie Beaver to Mars to scope out the best places for the establishment of his new Olympus Mons Club venture.

I’m withyou fishskicanoe, launching the Bev into geosynchronous orbit along with some fish pellets would not clutter the space junk up there at all. And think of the glorious re-entry he would get.
