With upwards of two feet of snow projected to fall on the Underground/Man Cave World Headquarters by this evening, I’m making the following Bold Prediction:
The Power Is For Sure Going Out (Again)
Hell, I’ll be lucky to get this on the Intertubes.
The Underground’s been a dry well as of late, and I apologize to the Undergrounders hungering for news from the great snowy north.
Unfortunately, there really hasn’t been any (unless you count night-and-day workloads, youthful projectile vomiting, and other artifacts of everyday life).
Wayne Eng did go fishing with a couple friends during Sunday’s snow/rainstorm, and when we talked about it on the phone, we came up with a plausible reason why snowstorms in January are kind of cute, but in late March, they’re Satan’s work.
It’s possible we’re both a little punchy.
The big web project is now 95% done and waiting on other people’s stuff (so it can launch in just over a week), so I’m back to all the things that didn’t get done before.
Delaying the announcement of the site – and an interesting new work gig that will likely find purchase among the Undergrounders – is killing me, but at least the delays aren’t on the consultant’s head (for once).

Ask Google. They automate that chunk of ads based on the content, and I have no idea what might have triggered it.
Needless to say (but I’ll say it anyway), there are absolutely no pending sexual harassment lawsuits against the Underground. None.
In fact, I was going to say “we embrace women in the workplace” but that’s the kind of thing that would trigger a lawsuit.

It’s pretty wild up here. Shoveled the back porch, ran the snowblower up front for 90 minutes, and not only had the back porch accumulated three inches, but by the time I cleared it again, the driveway needed more snowblower time.

I guess it’s a matter of perspective. Around here a good blizzard in January can close the roads making it impossible to go steelhead fishing. Bad. Very bad. Just ask my wife.
In March, you just roll your eyes and hunker down at the tying bench…and hope the power doesn’t go out. I’ve never been much for tying by the light of a kerosene lamp.
