Sure, it’s a Montana State Record Pygmy Whitefish, but damn – I’d work on the hero pic. You know – do what all the guides do (use a wide angle lens, and have the client hold the fish at arm’s length so they’ll believe it’s actually the 18″ the guide’s telling them it is).
Let’s hope he didn’t get this one mounted (state record or not).

Lol that is freakin hilarious…I would love to see the video of the epic battle that ensued while trying to land this MONSTER.

When you’re fishing for pygmy fish, is the record biggest or smallest?

I can’t get past the idea this looks like the picture you take after your pet goldfish dies.
The saving grace? It looks to me like the guy knows he looks a little silly…

Yea his face is priceless…it’s like he’s thinking to himself, “this better not end up on some fishing blog.” What are the odds ha.

Honestly, when I glanced at the snap I though it was a picture of a fish that had been taken out of the stomach of another fish. It has that chewed, somewhat digested look.
You can always follow the official rules of the hero shot:

They guy had to go through a bit of trouble to get the thing certified… not like someone just happened to be there with the scale. He had to seek out this notoriety. I can’t imagine why.
