I use them, and have bought some for use by my journalism/TV students, despite their limitations. First, I don’t use the Flip software; I import the vid files into Premier or Final Cut. Obviously, the resolution is poor relative to any half-decent camcorder, but the convenience is compensation enough. Plus they’re cheap and small. I hang the camera around my neck when I fish, and every few minutes I erase the previous file and start again–three quick steps. I wish they had better audio.

Tom, the Welsh river you mention, the Taff, is my home river. Small world eh! Also, the international championship was hosted on my home fishing club’s waters. Plus, it was my country, Wales, that won it :) Result!

Planning an entry into next years Fly Fishing Film Tour are you Tom? I’ve been looking at the HD versions myself but then I would have to hire someone to follow me around and tape me.
Thanks for the feedback. And the hell with the fly fishing film tour – I plan to make some real money producing the first quality fly fishing skin flicks (the possibilities make my head swim).
You’re taking it better than I would have… 8-)
