Fly fishermen view waterguns as the noxious devices fired at drift boats by drunken rafters, but those super-soaker wielding, beer-swilling frat members are missing the point: They could use their high-powered waterguns to catch and eat bugs.
As proof, we present the Archerfish, which shoots a two-meter stream of water out its mouth, knocking streamside bugs in the water (found via the ocean-saving Blogfish blog):
See you on the super-soaked river, Tom Chandler.

That has to be one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. I can see them spraying me while I’m wading, all laughing with their friends as I stumble around in the water. hahaha

I’ve seen trout rustling the streamside vegetation in an apparent attempt to knock October Caddis into the water, so frankly, the squirting water thing should work great.
Seems like a great comedy bit for a Crosby/Hope “Road to” movie sketch…
