I’d love to tell the Undergrounders I’m a skilled fixit kind of guy – one of those MacGyver people who can repair anything as long as I have a paper clip, a swiss army knife, and a short length of uncooked spaghetti, but the truth is rather the opposite.
Most of my patch jobs involve epoxy or duct tape, which is why I was so damned thrilled to read about Nuclear Grade Duct Tape from 3M:
Sure, I never really forgave 3M for buying the Phillipson Rod Company and then shutting it down (the bastards!), but duct tape capable of repairing everything from fishing gear to the nuclear reactor that powers the Trout Underground/Man Cave World Headquarters is worth a long, hard look.
See you all stuck together, Tom Chandler.

While you’re shopping for duct tape at Amazon in preparation for nuclear leaks, take a look at the PlayMobil Airport Security Check Point.
Picking up a set could help you prepare for that long distance fly fishing trip you’re planning or your escape after the meltdown. The product reviews can guide you on how to best use the set. Miniature fly rods for carry-on baggage not included. Jim Ferguson(Quote)
It’s not very realistic if they don’t include lost luggage, rods tubes crushed by baggage handlers, and camera equipment stolen from luggage, is it? Tom Chandler(Quote)
The greatest invention from mankind just got better. Are there plans to use this as a heat shield in future space shuttles? DSflyman(Quote)
Let me think on this for just a minute, ……ok, I’ve got it, it’s the perfect Q for an article of this magnatude!
Since we know that lead has the best qualities for shielding us from RADIATION, I just gotta ask;
Is this stuff legally sold in California, where they have the strictest ever environmental/cancer prevention laws on the whole planet?
All of the scientists say that the CO2 emissions, have caused the destruction of the ozone layer, but can anybody recall how many nukes were fired off in Nevada during the 50’s, 60’s etc.? (It’s ok to include those that they detonated underground too!)
I’ve yet to hear anyone in the scientific field, or the Broadcast/Pay for cable MEDIA, address this subject. Any thoughts, Tom? themaninthemoon(Quote)
