Tip for getting good underwater shots with the pentax... take video and then go back and take stills of the video. that way your almost guaranteed the trout gets in the frame. the downside is, the quality isn't as good. most of the pics on my blog are stills of videos with the pentax.

I need to repair a couple of leaky wader booties before I head into the icy rivers, but with another 13 days of holiday time still to use, I think I can get it done. Love the pix - thank goodness the Optio was retrieved or else we wouldn't having the picture of the stunning, dare I say it, handsome, Wonderdog.

Nice to be out catching fish TU! The Bitterroot is full of shelf and slush ice (which makes for some nice sounds while out duck hunting) so fishing is a bit tough right now - at least open water type fishing. My day after the Solstice consisted of plowing the parking lot, etc. at work. But, hey, it was outside running heavy equipment, so it could have been worse. Looks like the softshell is getting a workout.
