I’d be more than disappointed to travel from South Florida to Montana to catch trout no larger than the width of my hand. I would probably tip the guide comensurate with the size of the fish.

@Michael: Mostly program mode — the camera doesn’t let you do much on your own. Still, I expect I’m getting pretty good at fooling it to get the result I want.

I have the same camera. Do you generally use auto-everything, or have a favorite mode for the outdoors? And do you use Photoshop? If so, what adjustments do you generally make?

PS: I love the device, mostly because I fall in a lot. And by the way, do you know what the heck “green mode” is?

Thanks for all the comments. Camera on this trip a beat-up Pentax Option W10 (waterproof). All digital cameras pretty good now, but turn the saturation way up, sharpness way down, underexpose a little, and then touch it all up using editing software.

Wish I had a picture of a 100 year-old mussel. That would have been cool.

wonderful report…love the photos…did the Cuttie that kicked your butt laugh as he headed down stream (they do that sometimes )…I’m glad your trip was enjoyable…will we see you again in this little slice of paradise soonly?

I too have seen name redacted cast from his butt he is truly gifted..
