12/30/2008 UPDATE: It looks like this dating site is pretty much a scam being run by someone with a history of scams. It makes for a fun post, but our original take was right – don’t register there.
Via Moldy Chum, we learned of the existence of CupidFish — an online singles site for those looking for a fishing-or-hunting savvy mate.
Sure, it’s a ripoff of the Underground’s own Catch.com concept site (which would be making millions now if only my readers had come up with some venture capital funding), but if it’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that the Underground’s always a couple decades years months ahead of the rest of the world.
It’s the burden of a wise man in a world of knaves. Or proof that satire simply can’t outstrip real life.
Still, don’t get too excited or fire up that credit card yet; Cupidfish.com is running a stream of photos across its home page, and it clearly wants you to think those hot women in bikinis are participants on the site.

Turns out at least some of them aren’t. We recognize a couple of the photos from our own “Bikini Wars: The Final Solution” post, and if the site’s mis-representing the willingness of their members to fish topless, then what else isn’t quite square?
UPDATE 12/17/2008: It’s starting to look like this site is a scam, at least if several emails are to be belived. My advice? Stay the hell away.

Same woman on Cupidfish header and the Internet. What else isn’t real?
And frankly, aren’t we looking at a tidal wave of poorly groomed, unwashed men versus a tiny ripple of women?
The Underground’s unsolicited online dating advice? Save your money. You’d meet more, better-qualified woman at Fly Girls – a Casting for Recovery fundraiser this Sunday in Red Bluff.
Once again, the Underground provides an invaluable consumer service to its readers, and we ask so little in return. Maybe a comment here and there. A few complimentary words among your friends. And the always-accepted white envelope stuffed with small, unmarked bills a nice little check.
See you anywhere but the dating sites, Tom Chandler.

Dear Mr. Chandler,
I truly appreciate the inside scoop. It probably saved my marriage! Joke of course. After logging onto your site I felt immediatly compelled to start clicking leading me yet another step closer to full scale drool pictures! However you title saved me, now feeling compelled to read on before recklessly clicking. On the flip side I did decide to finger through their site and peek around.
I will add, a little belly gurgling that happened immediatly after seeing the number of members strong the site was….700+ members, which immediatly had me thinking, “How many of those members are dudes?” I bet their are some stellar pictures of some blue gill male cover ups! Is their a smaller fish I’m forgetting out there? Maybe a war paint shiner!
Finaly there are 28 pictures uploaded by it’s members, what a rip!
So I’m reccomending Photoshop, a Sage 8 wt., while standing in a bikini off the front of a Hells Bay boat….At least that’s the dream!
Good read as always!

Is that a wedding ring on her left hand. I was going to click through, but forget it now. Who fishes for Angel Fish?

Just found the blog. Folks it’s not a scam at all. The photo was removed because it was copied and found out later to be a “guy” we pulled the photo months ago and canceled the account.

Many of the photos of women on the site had nothing to do with your dating service.

Yes, they do Tom. CupidFish ownes http://www.myfishingpictures.com and share the same database. If you ever decide to join and “pay” (being the keyword) you’ll see/meet many. Now if there is a fake profile let us know and it will be suspended. With all due respect, calling the site a scam is just not fair.

Anything that this guy does is a scam. He has ripped off many in the hunting and fishing industry, myself included.

Now I’m seeing my content illegally scraped on a site that sports a cupidfish.com pop up.
Still insist Cupidfish isn’t a scam? Pulleeeeze.
