Well this post is way late, but gotta do it. It's now the weekend of February 21-22, 2009. I went to the Pasadena Fly Fishing Show this past weekend. Very poorly attended. I didn't go to any of the workshops (too busy kibutzing with lots of friends I was surprised to see, which did make the show worth going to), but there were no major vendors there, not even Orvis, which has a retail store about ... more three blocks away from the site of the show. Interestingly, Hardy was there, with their $1200.00 fly rod, and very pretty brochures. Not too many people interested in a $1200 fly rod that I could see.

[...] put a hitch of some sort on this puppy and use it to tow a pontoon boat into the mountains, since recession has hit fly fishing [...]

Jon: I'd post a picture or two if you had one. And was this a float trip through the Little J, or were you fishing the railroad land he illegally posted?

As a lover of Pennsylvania's Little Juniata, I always love a good Donny Beaver rip. P.S. fishing his recently un-posted land on the Little J. was spectacular in many different ways.

Ha, Ha, Very funny! I'm glad someone's finding humor amidst the rising prices.

Michael: You can, but it makes an awful scraping noise. Roberts: It's not so much the cheese as when you carve up something you found dead on the bank and tell your clients its sushi...

I've been seeing a tarot reader every Wednesday. If the flows are perfect, the moon is new, and the Magician (fly selection), the King of Cups (for the PBR), and the Five of Wands (meaning my 5-weight) all show up, I go for the weekend. Barring that, I'm trying to figure out if I can tow a pontoon behind my mountain bike.
