Greg: I cast Raine’s staggered ferrule rod today. Wow. For an 8′3″ 5wt, it’s amazingly light, and very smooth.

Even though it’s aggressively hollowbuilt, it still feels lighter in the hand than I think it should (maybe moving the ferrule down the rod helps).

This one’s a killer. You gotta cast it.

Greg: I taught Wayne everything he knows. And no, the staggered ferrule rod isn’t this one. Everyone who’s cast both likes the quad prototype, but thinks the staggered ferrule rod is smoother. Chris will be fishing it this year, so we’ll get some real feedback.
