Will: I'd love to provide a clear answer, but keep in mind we've only been able to fish the river in winter a couple of years.

Plus, the river's unfishable at this time of the year, so it's not as if we have much of a historical record to draw on.

I have seen Skwalas in prior winters (especially when I lived in Dunsmuir), but not in great numbers.

Those who fished the river extensively prior to the spill will say the stoneflies have come back, but they've never recovered to their prior levels.

Is this a comeback for the Skwalas, or are they new to the river, or is this a yearly thing?...I don't know, because I've never been to that area this time of year (in part because of reports like the one above).
