Felt Soul Media’s Ben Knight posted a picture of a great big hole in the ground — almost 4,000 feet deep and 2.5 miles wide. Why?
That’s about the size of the proposed Pebble Mine — the abomination some folks want to put in just above Bristol Bay, Alaska. And it’s not just the hole — all that dirt’s gotta go somewhere, and a lot of will be contaminated/toxic too. From Felt Soul’s blog:
Our theory is that showing an existing open pit mine similar to the proposed size of the Pebble would be an important thing for Alaska to consider when they vote on whether or not to kill half the World?s salmon. Opps, there I go giving my opinion again. Sorry, forget that you just read that.
With most of the salmon runs on the West Coast effectively blowing chunks, this is just what we need hanging over the best of what’s left.

Aside from the toxic chemicals in the slag. What a great ski resort that hole would make. A village at the bottom and Chair lifts and gondolas carrying skiers up , for a 4000 vertical foot decent. It would be the 4th largest ske area in th US
