Here’s another in a series of product reports from the FFR show — the great stuff that should get attention, but probably won’t.

Admittedly, FlyBook is a little beyond the interest of most of my readers; it’s an Internet-based booking/calendaring product that helps guides and outfitters view, book, and track their guide dates.

Still — given the computer-resistant nature of much of the industry – it’s nice to see a company putting technology to work by automating time-sapping tasks like booking trips, sending confirmation letters and e-mails, client tracking, client marketing — you name it.

Clients can even view an outfitter’s schedule and book their own trips.

FlyBook might be overkill for a single guide (though their pricing seems pretty flexible), but then again, I’ve never met a guide who enjoys office work. Larger operations would almost certainly benefit from a look.
