Every writer knows about Hemingway’s six-word short story: “For sale: baby shoes, never used.” Packed with meaning, it’s an outstanding example of saying a lot with a little.

Can fly fishers say as much with as little? Fishing Jones wants to know, so he’s holding a short story contest. You’ve got six words to sum up the entirety of the fly fishing experience. Or even just a little part of it.

To the winner, he’s awarding a t-shirt. Sure, it’s not quite as powerful a prize as say… a Maine canoe hat, but it’s still a prize worth winning, if only because it’s a sign of your genetic superiority. So get over there and crush the other writers’ egos under the carbide-studded heel of your wading boot.
