Bamboo Helmet: Perfect for Chuck-and-Duck Purists?

At the Trout Underground, we continue our quest for the coolest, most useless useful bamboo-related items for today’s green-thinking, fly fishing purists.
Today (via the GoBlog) it’s a bamboo helmet — the perfect headgear for fly fishing’s legion of “Chuck & Duck Purists.”
If you haven’t heard of them yet, chuck-and-duckers are a zany bunch of fly fishers who routinely hurl six split shot and two weighted nymphs at the water, apparently hoping they’ll stun the trout that won’t eat.
Sure, it’s brilliant marketing on our part, but on second thought, this bamboo helmet might be better marketed to drift boat guides, who have to sit for hours directly in the flight path of those same split shot and weighted nymphs — often “piloted” by twice-a-year fly fishers.
Either way, at the Underground, it’s all about supplying you with the information you need to build a better fly fishing life. Better. We’re all about better.

I’ve got to take the picture so I can send it to you. I found some Bamboo socks at T.J. Maxx while picking up a dog bead for my new pup. $6.95 for the 3 pack. Bamboo, and a bargain. So far they’ve been comfy.

Great find, Tom. At Outdoor Retailer this summer there were Bamboo Hangers, of course, Bamboo socks, Bamboo underwear, Bamboo T-Shirts, Bamboo walking sticks. We didn’t see any Bamboo Beer though, so there are still some untouched market niches…
