I’m Gone, But the Internet Flows Continue

I’m on vacation, but normally I’d try to keep my ever-faithful readers informed about fishing-and-water-related happenings around the Internet.

Sadly, my vacation dialup throughput is akin to that of two tin cans attached by a string, so it’s been (and will remain) a little quiet on the surfing front.

Still, I’ve stumbled across a couple worthwhile bits, including good news about the Orvis-funded restoration efforts on the Batten Kill River (a census says more trout, not less).

Plus, removal of the Marmot Dam — which blocks access to 100 miles of salmon spawning habitat on Oregon’s Sandy River — recently began with a bang. (Thanks to the Restoring Rivers blog for this tip.)

I’ve been getting lots of links lately from water-issues blogs, and once I’m back on firmer ground (at least in the Internet bandwidth sense), I plan to do a post connecting all those wonderful dots.
