The catching was poor, the fishing was fun, and the two landed trout were irridescent.
It’s impossible to know why trout are so much prettier than they need to be — and I’d fish for them if they were a monochromatic grey — but I marvel at each and every fish.

That fish looks as if he’s absolutely terrrrrified by your presence. Thing is, when he got back home to his territory - he was THE fish. Told all his friends that he looked ya’ in the eye without turning away. Never mind the configuration of his head/neck/shoulders doesn’t allow for much rotational/turning capability…
