The Dirty Little Secrets of Famous Fly Fishermen (Or, the Magic of Video)

Bish on Fish (today it should be “Bish Fish Dish”) throws yet another fascinating “Famous Fly Fisherman Cheater story our way - this one about a “famous fly fisher” who shows up in New Zealand, makes a fool of himself, then uses the magic of video editing to restore his reputation.

From his site:

By now I was moving from mild irritation to full on hostilities, and loosening my usual steely grip on my fee, I quietly but firmly told him he knew less than Fanny Adam’s sister Felicity Adams about fishing this river, and it was way past time he stopped talking and started listening if he wanted to catch fish. To my astonishment he did.

You can get the rest of the story here: Famous Fly Fisherman’s Secret

I’ve heard similar stories from others who guided/helped/fished with “famous” egos. Anyone with something to share?

I believe I have had the honor of guide the most famous (to us), our own bloger TC. But one of the most dedicate stream nuts I have fished with is Sully, once when we were out on a small stream in Oregon the first thing he did was wade out sit down in the water over his waders I thing he was trying to see what bugs where coming off, but I would have used a bug net instead of my waders, but these guys from Montana are hard core.
