Here at the Trout Underground we’re buried under deadlines, imposed on us by the unreasonable expectations of our creditors, who actually expect us to pay them for the heating oil, electricity and booze we’ve purchased.
The nerve.
So instead of anything approaching a thoughtful, carefully reasoned post about my fly fishing life (and there won’t be any fly fishing life until this weekend), you’re getting this: The Freaky Friday Internet Roundup.
FIRST
There’s something of a dustup brewing at Alistair’s Fly Fishing the Kelvin blog, and I’m sad to say I didn’t realize it in time to truly get involved.
Another opportunity missed due to work…
THEN
That steady, reliable bunch at MidCurrent engage in actual newsgathering while the rest of us natter on about nothing in particular. This one’s about the possible closing of Gudebrod – a longtime thread supplier to rod builders and fly tyers.
Damn.
AND THEN
Something’s in the water at OPAX (yes, that Finnish guy), because he’s getting all “spooky” on us with dark glasses, references to national security, and code names.
It’s either related to a fly fishing competition, or he’s been fantasizing about being James Bond again. The last time that happened, the Finnish police found him running down the road stark naked, carrying a silver tinsel streamer and yelling “Moneypenny, I’ve got something for you!”
Let’s hope that particular episode isn’t repeated. Nobody wants that.
AND, WELL…
From the Piton comes news of… yes – the Hotel Bed Jumping blog.

Frankly, we’re afraid to say much more about this. Naturally, off-color jokes are welcome in the comments section, though we retain the right to *bleep* anything that makes us cringe…
NEVER FEAR
I’ve got a pair of interesting posts rattling around inside the Trout Underground-approved brainpan. Just need to pay the bills first.
And yes, there might be fishing this weekend, though the temperatures aren’t going to help; it was 13 degrees this morning. Oy.
See you by the heater, Tom Chandler.
