MOLDY CHUM: Slab of the Year Promotional Video

How the Academy overlooked this gem is beyond me, but if you haven’t yet voted in Moldy Chum’s Slab Of the Year Contest (why the hell isn’t it “Slab ‘o the Year?), you still have time.
And you’ll get to see this bit of the filmmaker’s art taken to its sophisticated, Ingmar Bergman-esque extreme.

As for the slabs themselves (pictures of really big fish), I voted for the Highway Traffic Cone, correctly reasoning that a big carp is harder to catch than any salmon or steelhead.
Plus, I get a chance to say “I’d love to see them Drop the Carp on all those big, dumb steelhead.”
But that’s just me. Don’t let it influence your vote.

The fish in the dogfight with the Koi is a rainbow caught in Colorado, not an anadramous steelhead. I snapped the picture. Biggest damn rainbow I ever saw. And the lady that caught it is 70ish. In the hardest to catch department, I’d say she’s the winner… But don’t let me influence your vote…
